NCL-RF Awards 2024-25: Dr. Amol Kulkarni’s Team Recognized for Best Process and Best Commercialized Technology

CSIR-National Chemical Laboratory, Pune – We are proud to announce that our research group led by Dr. Amol A. Kulkarni has been honored with two distinct awards at the NCL-RF Awards for Scientists-Staff for 2024-25. The team has been recognized for their groundbreaking work in continuous flow synthesis and process commercialization.

The group received awards in the following categories:
🏆 NCL RF Award for the Best Process of the Year
This award recognizes the development of a Continuous Ultrafast Solvent-Free Process for the Synthesis of Paracetamol.
This innovative process yields a product with 99.89% purity within a matter of seconds. Highlighting its industrial viability, the process has been licensed exclusively to an industry partner for a production capacity of 5,000 TPA.

🏆 NCL RF Award for Best Commercialized Technology of the Year
This award honors the successful commercialization of a Continuous Ozonolysis-Based Process for the Production of Azelaic Acid from Oleic Acid.
Developed based on know-how from CSIR-NCL, the commercial plant has been in successful operation for over a year. It stands as the first fully integrated, continuous, zero-discharge plant for Azelaic acid in the country.
